Oregonians across the state sent a clear message to the Legislature: "...failure to sustain existing investments in high-quality early childhood programs all but guarantees an even bleaker economic future for Oregon." Following an 8% across-the-board budget cut, the Legislature re-appropriated $1.3 million to Head Start and Early Head Start and $1.3 million to Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education to maintain these programs through the end of 2010.
